Secret Squirrel Stuff

I’ve got a secret squirrel of a plan and it’s burrowing away at the back of my head.
For the last week I’ve had a permenant headache by the time 6pm comes round just from trying so hard to ignore the secret squirrel plans while I’m at work. It’s a tiny thought which I expressed outloud accidently to my boyfriend. He didn’t laugh like I thought he would’ve…Like I thought he should’ve. There was a second of shared thought between us and then he ran with it. I think it was the millisecond after I’d expressed the thought that I realised I could never take it back.
And now he likes the idea so much that instead of me always saying it’s him possibly maybe not wanting to be the brave one and make the change…it’s suddenly me. I’m the one holding us back. Kicking my heels in and being the emu.
So we need to make it work and that is the crux of the problem. I am the one who pulls our life together. If there’s a form to be filled I do it, or a phonecall to be made I’m on the phone. Dinner with friends I arranged the date, booked the restaurant and drove us there. I don’t even mind – rather horrifyingly it’s in my nature to do everything for everyone hence the job that I do. For 9 years (omigod where did 9 years go? That’s a little more than a third of my life) that’s how we’ve worked together. But I’m not doing this with it all resting on my shoulders because then this secret squirrel will go completely nuts.
He’s gonna need to pick up the phone once in a while…and possibly learn French…
Oh know. You’ve watched Grand Designs and plan on setting up a little small French Hotel, learning French Cuisine and becoming all European! Say it ain’t so, Imo.
