Chicago has a song 25 or 6 to 4.  We have somehow pulled from this song the numbers 4.25.  And for some bizzare reason every SMCC song is 4.25 to 4.36 minutes long.  Which is way too long.   But we can’t help ourselves.  We know this is wrong.  Very long.  But it keeps happening.  And even when we try to come under, as with Too Many Weddings and 71 Hours to Monday, we then do something at the end to hit our magic number.  See Ed’s Water Trick.  It is a disease. Like Tourettes Syndrome but for musicians.     Our goal for 2010 is to keep our songs under 3.30 and hopefully under 3 minutes.  That is our New Year’s Resolution.
