First Meetings
Written by Andy Patterson
So, a year plus after joining the crew, I was looking back through my diary and reminded of the initial meetings. An invite arrived to journey to swish London offices to chat about a possible music project. Now, being a musician and a self employed on at that, I had, and still have not had much in the way of necessity to enter such places. Cue visitors badges and trips upto the meeting rooms on the floor with the views across London. I was taking all this in my stride, those employed by said company even being aware of my meeting. It is said that simple things please simple minds, and they have certainly catered to this with the provision of drinks and stationary in their meeting rooms. Cans of diet coke (obviously) multiple variants of tea and pens, pencils and pads of paper, all in abundance. Do they have a department just for stocking their meeting rooms? I heard PWC have a department just for printing their own business cards… is this true?
Now this may seem the norm to all you city slickers out there, but I was tempted to fill my pockets. I didn’t of course, I was in business mode. I had even worn a shirt. Not a particularly well fitting shirt, but a shirt all the same. So after discussing the details, where apparently the devil resides so I’m told, with J and M, retire to the pub with M for a few pints. good stuff.
And the rest they say is a mystery.
