Notes on a trip

Written by

Far too many to mention. However, here are some condensed snippets of pictures in my mind from the weekend….

Malaga airport. new part is looking very swish. Maybe they’ll manage to keep out the birds that fly over your head in the food court.

The weather. The sight of a torrent of rain sweeping down the steep (and I mean steep) driveway was something to behold, and justification for the fact I hadn’t left the studio at all in about 13 hours. Having arrived back in Blighty and contemplating putting a hat on, due to the chill is a shock indeed.

The Cd itself. Mastering to be completed on Thursday with the legend that is Mr Davey Moore. Engineer to the stars and the upstarts. He’s recorded Jedward don’t you know. If you don’t know who Jedward are then full respect to yourselves. Make no attempt to learn. Two favourite tracks at the moment. Let Love Shine and Too Many Weddings (the big band version I’ll have you know)

Knees. go. big. big big big. sssssshhh. 1 – 2.

The journey back was eventful, from the un-necessarily sweary man in the lift at Gatwick (his phone wasn’t working by the way, if you’re interested – no? we weren’t either), through to the noisy bin lid with a life of its own on the train to Clapham – a train trip which also provided the gem of an ‘All Ears’ moment which however cannot be repeated right here. needless to say it could have been interpreted by our intrepid leader as a ‘worrying livestock’. Follow this up with a wait at Clapham, which has the leakiest roof I’ve been sat under for a long time, cue wet copy of Musicophilia. and an eventual cab journey which saw three different foxes run across the road in front of the cab. In three different places. A year in the countryside and not one seen until that cab journey. maybe they were all on their way somewhere. It brings to mind a joke about Prince Charles, but I’ll save that for another day.

Not much here about the actual time at casa abubilla itself, but hey other people have covered that already….

All this, a cracking episode of the Thick of It and Newcastle winning 3 – 0. Rock On.

There’s so much that could be linked to here, but I’ll do it another time… too much to do right now.
