A Very Short List of Our Best Blogs

I’ve just culled this category. Oh, for those of you who don’t know, this blog occurs in a category called ‘A Very Short List of Our Best Blogs’, surprisingly enough. Anyway, I was doing a bit of housekeeping and I saw a whole load of blogs in this category that were not lists at all, but Jimmy’s Top Tips! Scandalous – I like a tidy kitchen. So I deleted them from this category…
I feel bad now, so I’m going to feature them a lot in this summary of our best blogs. It’s a Top Tips Special:
Jimmy’s first official Tip of the Day was published on the 7th February 2010 – surprisingly recently. Mike was stuck for manuscript paper… (there’s always an extra treat in a Jimmy blog too – check it out – it’s usually musical)
Tips of the Day/Week became a lot more common in March of this year:
First, we have Jimmy’s infamous chat about discretionary energy. Actually, I’ve heard the schpiel twice now and I am beginning to understand it. It’s a remarkable thing to get someone thinking about your brand when they’re at the gym, or at the checkout in Tesco’s… Just think about it. Go on.
Next in March – same day actually – came the next business tutorial: what Jimmy calls ‘The Great Doubling’. It’s all about how to expand your business advocates – those people what tell other people about you. In a good way. The best advocators though, as I’ve been learning from these tutorials, are those ones what don’t like you, and then you do something nice for them, and then they do like you – it makes for a much better story to tell their friends, you see?! Man, I should lecture on business. I know it all!
And then, blimey, one day later came Jimmy’s Tips on Digital Strategy (or Internet Strategy, as Google likes it to be called). Now, if you’re really interested in this, we have tons of blogs on it – here’s another one – oop, and another! – and, would you believe it, there’s even more – it’s a growing subject that noone knows much about. We’re writing it all up as we go along, and doing our best to follow our own strategy. All good to know, though.
Come mid-March, Jimmy’s Tips took a turn for the personal. Here is a snapshot of Jimmy’s morning. At 4am. Yeah, you heard me right!

We’re getting there…
In the next installment of his Top Tips, Jimmy lays out his rules for use in New York lifts. Or elevators. He argues that we in London have hundreds of rules for negotiating our horizontal city, so New York ought to have at least a few rules for elevator usage in their vertical city…
…and then he discovers that London isn’t really horizontal. Not compared to Sterling.
Come the end of March, Jimmy’s really getting into this Tips thing. Perhaps he’s learning to share his pearls…perhaps not:

4. 30th March – A Video to Make You Smile ah, sadly, the video has been removed! Oh dear. Don’t worry – please don’t cry – I’m sure we can find you something else…
…5. Hey! Hey, how about this one? 4th April – Have a Sassy Gay Friend
6. Later that day… Keep Track of Your Fly …Jimmy?!
7. The following day, 5th April – Don’t Give Viagra to Flies …*cough*
And, all of a sudden, the Tips grind to a halt. The blogs don’t. And the advice certainly doesn’t. But, Jimmy, where have your Tips gone??!
