Fun Facts: 10.02.08 (Gen Z Facts)
Written by Jimmy
So weird emerging facts about Gen Z… That digital group, those bizzare students that do homework while watching TV, doing MSN, chating on FaceBook and listening to songs in one ear…. my kids
So four interesting little facts:
1. When Cadbury investigated why chocolate sales had declined in UK amongst kids/teenagers, they found the answer was: kids using pocket money for texting.
2. An anthropological study in the UK suggested that an increasing amount of young teenagers are ringing door bells with their thumbs, due to habits formed while texting.
3. Most teenagers view e mail as ‘their parents’ thing’ and ‘quite old fashioned.’ Only 14% use email and the number is declining — prefer Facebook.
4. Most teenagers don’t use phone for voice anymore — price of phones increasing, use of phones for voice declining and text messaging is increasingly given away in 1000 text deals. A major problem for mobile phone operators who still subsidise phones in contracts.
Strange kids. I thought i was pretty clever using e mail… Well, I’m starting the thumb door bell thing.
