Hannah’s Greatest Day at Abubilla, Ever.

Written by

So Jimmy really cheered up my Friday by sending me an email of what I was to be doing this Saturday. It involves paper cuts and Space Monkeys. Standard.

So I arrive at 10.00 am and me and Morgan spend a good three hours with bits of coloured paper, making origami birds (like Prison Break). Seeing as our new album will be called something like “If I Were a Little Birdie” [watch this space], we thought it would be extra cool if those lucky ones who got their hands on an album had origami bird packs in the CD case. You could make an Abubilla Birdie Mobile. Very cool. So we experimented with all the awesome birds you can make. It started off with the simple crane.

Then it was a swallow

…and a swan and an owl (the owl is my favourite)

and then a crow! (Serious trouble with the world’s hardest Czech instructions)

We tried an eagle, but decided it was too hard..

…even for us.

We then made another of all of these five birds, decided where our Abubilla logo must go, marked it out, and unfolded the paper. So now we can print special Abubilla origami paper for each of the birds so that when they’re made, they’ll have a lovely Abubilla logo on their wings. Beautiful.

So the lovely day continues.

Sooner or later I was munching on pizza and making a video for Space Monkey Camp, a new song. This involved checking out youtube videos of monkeys in space from ’59 and ’61 when chimps were sent up to space, courtesy of NASA. I then decided which bits of which videos should go where in the song. Also very cool. So far, so good.

I then decided to blog about the music I really like thats a bit obscure. Adults need to realise that some teenagers have a good taste in music, actually.

Then when that was done I decided to write about my Awesome Day.

And as Jimmy said, I have the coolest job ever, and all the other kids in the world who think their Saturday job is cool should just think again.

OH and last week I got to play chromatic scales on my accordion at half speed. When listened to at real time in Pretty Bad Agents it sounded like the trippiest bloomin’ thing ever. So cool.
