Hannah’s Top Five 10.03.13
Written by Hannah
Here I am again with my top five highlights from the website,
and I would like to add that (in the words of the very new song Chamberlain in Munich)…Today has been a Good Day.
My reasons being:
a) It is a really nice day, mid-march which means it is not winter, it is spring. I love that.
b) I just met sophie and she’s really nice, can’t wait to hear some cello coming from the studio.
c) I brought with me an “engadiner nusstorte” from switzerland for us all to guzzle on, flying crumbs around the studio (oh dear) but it’s really tasty and it’s survived a plane journey. So that’s a good thing.
It’s tastier than it looks.
d) I witnessed a few takes of Chamberlain in Munich in the studio in my arm chair with my cup of tea, and recording is just awesome so that is another good thing. And I am just in awe of the band and the music.
e) I also really enjoyed my cup of tea because I made it to perfection.
Anyway. Now you know that today has been a good day, I will begin.
1. I read Jimmy’s blog about his gym accident in 2008 this morning. Wow. Well it was like reading the news but way funnier because somehow Jimmy managed to find the humour in his experience, which I really do admire. It was the second worst gym accident that year. I don’t want to write about the first.
2. And then I got all inspired to write stuff. Being a student I am forced to be creative to a deadline, which really does suck a lot. Although I am offered a lot of opportunity to be creative in writing at school, it is always very rushed, same with drama, same with art and music. This is a simple feature of education, timing is everything, and sometimes the right side of the brain doesn’t want to cooperate. So when I read Imogen’s blog I had a big urge to write, because she explained writing in a way which freed everything up much more than school did, which is another very good thing. I’ll let you know when I write something.
3. There’s a new feature called ‘Voices’ to the Abubilla website, we get to read about the music musings of people all around the world and there’s a lot more to come. Recent posts have been from Milan and Canada. Check them out.
4. Of all the tip of the days I’ve read, this has been the most exciting. Jimmy’s ‘Life at 4.23 am‘. I experimented this week and got up at 5.23 am (I’m not as hard core) and I read a whole script (Equus, Peter Shaffer, if you were interested, and it’s amazing), and I then went on to have the most productive, energetic day I have ever had at school. Try it, it’s uplifting. Jimmy’s is more impressive, because he does it every day rather than trying it once and going back to the usual painful half seven drill.
5. And then I just had to appreciate the Juno reference in the 5 Reasons to Smile blog, I then went and bought the song off itunes, in my opinion, Michael Cera is the coolest boy on earth.
And there’s Hannah’s Top 5 Highlights from the website, this week.
Have a good Sunday.
