Song Discovery: 10.02.16 Seattle Surprises

Written by

This’ll be a quick one.

Connected with our great friends Winky and Peter and they wanted to add songs to Song Discovery; here’s Winky’s commentary:

1. Eric Hutchinson’s, All Over Now.  We saw Eric Hutchinson in both Seattle at Bumbershoot and at Suicide Six ski area in vermont this summer.  He makes up a song on the spot about whatever is going on in front of him at each show. in seattle it was all about people standing in the rain. (;-)

2. Brett Dennen’s Ain’t No Reason, and  Grace Potter’s, Apologies:   Brett Dennen and Grace Potter did a benefit show in seattle this Christmas with Brandi Carlile (The Story) is also very popular around here.

We got to meet Brett and Grace backstage and Bett in particular is remarkable- about 6’6″ and really gentle and sweet.  Heasked if  Iwanted an autograph or photo and Isaid no that’s okay Iam just so looking forward to hearing you sing and then he said “okay then, how about a hug?” and i got such a sweet hug that later on someone in the audience (who had been back stage also) asked me how long i had known him.

4.  Train, Hey Soul Sister.   Duncan played this CD a lot over Christmas.

Love ’em and Thanks Winky.  Please send more!  We get stuck in our London rut.
