Voices: Antoine from Tonneins
Written by Tonneines - Antoine
Here’s an inital blog of some great African music and a few French love songs…
These have been mentioned in earlier Song Discoveries as I’ve been trying to get Jimmy to discover really GOOD songs for awhile.
- Halfauine (for Piano), Anouar Brahem, from La Voyage de Sahar. I included some songs from La Voyage de Sahar and love the visuals and music. Agnes Jaoui songs from her album Canta:
- Salif Keiti (Mali), Djembe. I wanted to bring you singers from Mali into the mix. I’ve added Tomorrow. I also recommend some Ismael Lo — I chose Tajabone because I love the harmonies and guitar. I also recommmend Ali Farke Toure and added a live Goye Kur – because it is fantastic blues. Pretty good music out of a little ol’ acoustic. I also love tracks from Heart of the Moon, Ali Farke Toure’s grammy awarded winning album and here’s Gomni and Kala .
- And everyone must listen to Frances Cabrel: L’encre de tes yeux and Octobre and African Tour and Mademoiselle l’aventure . And his best love song, responding to the March Challenge: Orly.
There you go…Antoine
