The Most Typical Human… and our 7th Billionth Baby

National Geographic just finished a project to describe the statistically typical human; he (yes, men slightly more typical than woman, driven in part by the tragedy for China’s one child policy), 28 (that’s the average age), and Chinese (the most common ethnic/national group). So first, here he is, a face created by averaging 200,000 faces of 28 year old Chinese men (this one is made up of 7,000 men’s images, 1 for every 1 million humans on earth).

And who’s the 7th Billionth Human? They’ve decided it’s Danica May Camacho born in the Phillipines, born on October 31, 2011, , but there are a lot more little babies claiming the title. But we’re happy it is little Danica May. Here’s her picture:
