12.01.14 This Week in the Studio

A very busy Saturday focused on a new Chris Kozlowski Song (Cut My Hair), doing a reggae cover of Adele’s Set Fire to the Rain (featuring Sam P),  rehearsing/preparing for the Sunday January 22 Half Moon Gig and sorting out a lot of videos for Singing Wells.   Keeping traditions, we’ll divide all this into:

The Music:  Before we got to rehearsal, we worked on Chri’s new song, Cut My Hair (Shut Your Eyes), having a lot of fun with vocal harmonies between Chris, Mike, Hannah and Sam.  We did a quick video to give you  a sense of our working sessions.   Here you go:

We also had a ridiculously good time doing a cover of Adele’s “Set Fire to the Rain” featuring young sam (the lovely ‘your eyes’ vocal on he far left of video above).  He did a great job – the band, on the other hand, worked hard, to destory the song with various reggae and ska versions.  we ultimatelysettled on a little reggae number that should be a lot of fun.  Here is Sam doing another Adele cover at his school.  Video pretty bad, but I think that’s because it is first a mobile recording at school and then later someone recording that on a TV set.  Hmm….

And we sort of did this to Adele. We’ll let you listen later.

Everything Else:   Andy worked on Batwa videos from Uganda and the rest of us planned for January 22 gig.  We also were joined by Sam as a potential ‘tea boy’ and Matt who may come into the studio to replace Hannah gradually – as she heads to Cambridge!  A warning, Hannah, a warning:
