12.07.28 This Week in the Studio

We opened the studio only two days after the Spanish Jam… but, hey, important to keep the momentum. The entire focus was Chris, working on three things: getting him to do some vocals for our work in Spain, getting him to work on some Singing Wells Influences work and putting down a track for him to use to write some lyrics:
- Vocal Lead on Spanish Material: Chris took over vocals for two songs. The first was My Best Friend Married a Porn Star, a song that used Jimmy in verses and Andy in Chorus. Chris took over as lead vocalist. The second was Let It Rain and Chris enjoyed the experience as much as Sophie did in Spain. “Weird” and “Incomprehensible” filled the air.
- Singing Wells Influences: Chris will be working on a part to be in Missing, the global re-mix. He also worked with Andy and Rob on a potential part with Tiny Moses. He wants to ‘join the song’ and bring in some English versus. Here’s the song to remind everyone:
- Chris’s New Material (Working Title: Music First) : Chris then worked on his own song with Andy and Rob, adding Orutu and Slide whistle. We think he’s going for something Paul Simon, but maybe he’s going for something from the Otacho Young Stars, our favourite Orutu group:
While all this was going on we watched the men’s road race, dissapointed at the disapperance of the British Team… We blame ourselves . We chose to stay in the studio and not walk the half mile to Sheen Gate to watch the races come back toward London through Richmond Park. Shame.
