Abubilla Live: Leon Friday 13th

Written by

Abubilla Music and Leon hosted a live gig this Friday at the Leon on Compton Street, featuring Andy Patterson, Chris Kozlowski, Tati Kalveks. Louise Calf,  and the Saturday Morning Canasta Club.   Here’s a short summary with some great photos taken by our official photographer Helen:

  • Andy opens with songs from Spiraling:  Andy opened with a couple covers, including Stuck in the Middle With You and Power of Love (see Soundcloud Link below) and then a few songs from his album Spiraling, including Back to You and Spiraling and a new song Photographs from his forthcoming album:

  • Chris Kozlowski:  Chris followed Andy with a set from his forthcoming Discovery Album, including Walk Away and Cut My Hair.  He also did a great cover of the school boy choir favourite Jeruselem, which we recording the next day at Abubilla Studios.  In the meantime, enjoy videos from two of the songs he performed:

  • Tati Kalveks:   Tati followed Chris with a bunch of songs from her album Graceless as well as a few new songs from her forthcoming second album (still to be named!).    We have a few videos from the Graceless Album, and promise a couple new videos of songs from the new album in the days ahead.  Here are a few of the songs Tati performed:

  •  Louise Calf:  Louise followed with the SMCC version of her song Let Love Shine and then turned to her role as lead singer of the Saturday Morning Canasta Club:

  •  The Saturday Morning Canasta Club:  The SMCC then played through a number of songs from their albums, including Breathe, 500 Letters from New York, and Chamberlain in Munich before closing with a spirited version of King Henry’s Tears.

  •  Encore:  Following the SMCC, Chris and Tati came back on stage to perform a view more songs.  Tati did a cover of Teenage Dirtbag (video to follow in a week or so) and Chris was joined by Millie for Sounds of Silence.    Everyone then came on stage, led by Chris for a great version of Sweet Home Chicago.

Thanks to all of you who came and we hope you enjoyed it.   For those of you who missed it (and to those of you who came and want lots more), we are happy to say that you have less than two weeks to wait, as we’ll be at the Half Moon on April 29th.  In the meantime, even though we have no video of Sweet Home Chicago, we are proud to give you Clapton’s version (we were a bit quieter):

Thanks again for coming and see you on the 29th of April.

The band…
