Chasing Pandora

Written by

Hey it’s Jodie doing a post as Hannah since she’s off in Northern Uganda at the moment!

Hannah’s maltese so probably has more of an insight… BUT I do have family out there and have been there every single year on holiday since I was about 5. So I do know a thing or two about the culture musicwise.

Maybe I’m a bit biased but, as Olivia kindly added into my bio, my grandad, who lives in Malta was Elton John’s manager and has worked with a load of music people everywhere. He managed a band in Malta called ‘Chasing Pandora.’ Sadly they broke up about a year ago, but before that they made some pretty good music. I’ve met the band and even been to a few of the Gozitan (the island next to malta) festivals with Mel and Keith (names of the people in the band). Mel’s the main singer and Keith plays the guitar.

I was actually in the studio when ‘Chasing Pandora’ recorded this song which was pretty cool. I’ve known the band for ages and they were really popular in Malta when they were together!

After re-listening to it now, they seem to fit in with some of the Abubilla-ey kinda stuff. I’m still trying to get the hang of the style after only just starting so forgive me! I really enjoy listening to the acoustic guitar that Keith plays so well. And Mel’s got a great individual voice.

Hope you like !
