Eurovision does its part for Age Equality

Along with the news this week that Englebert Humperdinck is to represent the UK in the Eurovision

Well, 75 year old Englebert will be joined at the contest by Russia’s entry: ‘Buranovskiye Babushki’ or the ‘Buranova Grannies’.

Meanwhile Ireland have opted for Jedward again, for the second year running. This brings up the fond memory of the situation from comedy series ‘Father Ted’, where the Irish throw the competition to avoid the great cost of staging the competition… (didn’t they have a puppet of a Turkey as their entry a few years back???)
