One of the later tracks on the album, once you’ve crossed into bonus material territory, is a cover of Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean. I’m a fan – it hasn’t got the funkitude of the original and you won’t be compelled to leap from your chair and start doing Wacko Jacko kicks but it’s a good reworking.
What I’m less of a fan of is their second Jackson cover, of I Want You Back by the Jackson 5. It’s lovely, but I found it just whet my appetite for the real deal.
I won’t leave you hungry – here’s the Jackson 5 to serve as the perfect contrast to all those delicious guitars and airy voices. Like an after-dinner mint.
