Music to eat burgers to…alone – Movember 2012
Written by Matt Fletcher - Capetown
So it’s that time of year again, those of you reading this that know me might have noticed I’ve spent the last fortnight walking round looking like Tom Selleck (probably more like a Disney villain and even more like a Dalston resident) for the amazing charity Movember. This year one of the movember rewards is once you raise £25 for the charity you get a free burger or salad (who we kidding?) every day in all Byron burger restaurants. Altruism aside this turns into a sound investment very quickly. My attitude towards this deal has changed almost every day based on the music they play:
Jay z- I Just Wanna Love U
“Damn right I’m a hustla, I’m like Jay z getting my food for free!”
Radiohead- Pyramid Song
“I’m in a restaurant eating a burger…alone.”
Pet shop boys – What Have I Done to Deserve This
“How are they allowing this? This is a daylight robbery. I don’t deserve a free burger for growing a moustache. It’s not even a good moustache.”
The Smiths- Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want
“What?! You don’t have enough jalapenos for my chili burger? This is ridiculous! Get the manager”
Wild beasts- We still got the taste dancin’ on our tongues
“Portobello and Emmenthal mmm that was a tasty burger! Wait why can’t I get rid of this cheesy mouth breath thing?”
Bob Marley- Three Little Birds
“Maybe everything’s ok, maybe the staff aren’t spitting in my food because I come here every day order my burger, only get a glass of water and don’t tip much. My moustache might not even be that bad”
