As I promised myself, I’m gonna do a track by track review of Miley’s new album and give my honest opinion.
Adore You– It’s a very pretty song, sounds like old Miley. Very slow and cheesy so there is still some Disney in her I guess.
We Can’t Stop– I’ve done my review of this one before and I know its grown on LOADS of you! So don’t lie to yourselves!
SMS– This took a while to get used to. Featuring Britney, it’s Miley’s dream song ‘apparently’ but to me, it kinda seems like the overexcitement got to her a bit and this track is just a bit all over the shop.
My Darlin’ – Ft. Future, it’s kind of drone-y but Future’s voice is cool and the song is sad, as you all know the album features around the story of ‘Miam’.
Wrecking Ball– The controversy caused by the video took away a lot from this song. I really like it and think it’s original, never heard wrecking balls used in a song before. It’s a good use of a noun if anything.
Love Money Party– Nah. Do not like this one. Very repetitive and I just get a bit bored (and that’s saying something coming from me)
#GETITRIGHT– LOVE THIS ONE! It’s so upbeat and uplifting (yes it’s my alarm in the morning and what) It’s fun as well, a little bit of old Miley coming across.
Drive– In the documentary, Miley claimed that this was the song that made her different from other artists. I disagree that this is the song as it’s typically ‘you broke my heart’ lyrics-wise. However, the music and her (genuine) anger and the bridge of the song are originally and really powerful.
FU– Ft. French Montana, this ones a popular one on the album. I think its very bold and VERY direct, if these lyrics were tweeted, the guy would definitely know what she was talking about. I think girls probably like it as well cos it’s really telling ‘hi,’ something. This song gets Liam in a lot of trouble lets just say.
Do My Thang– I actually love this it’s so catchy. Maybe the lyrics “Bang bitch, you think I’m strange bitch, it gets bananas like a fu*king orang-utan bitch” are umm, inventive but other than that, it just makes me think that she’s right in ignoring everything being said about her.
Maybe Your Right– It’s sad. You gotta cut her some slack as she is young and you can’t blame her for singing about Liam.
Someone Else– Explaining the transformation…maybe? This is also a popular one, I guess the power girl tracks are what are popular because Miley’s definitely promoting individuality and strength with this one.
Rooting For My Baby– Ahh, finally something relaxing on the album. We get to hear Miley’s un-edited voice and it’s really quite good. She really suits this track and her voice reflects the mood of it. It’s one of the bonus tracks on the Deluxe album, for some strange reason. I think it’s one of the best ones.
On My Own– Another powerful rendition from Miley. Apparently a tribute to Michael Jackson, which you can hear when listening to the track, Miley snarls at Liam once more and we hear the passion in this ‘in your face’ song.
Hands In The Air– And to end, not really sure about this one, it’s probably the track I have the least opinion on. It’s alright, it’s the kind of song she’d sing live in the middle of a concert to get everyone’s ‘hands in the air’… get it? But that’s really it’s only purpose in my head.
So despite hearing ‘MIKE WILL MADE IT’ endlessly on various tracks (someone clearly wanted to show they produced some of the album cough cough) I think she’s done good and proved herself with it. Have a listen, it might take a few tries but you can get into it.
