The next group to add to your playlist is Haim (rhymes with rhyme)! These girls (plus boy drummer) have been up-and-coming for a year or so now, but just in case you haven’t heard of them, I will give you a little background info…
They are a band from Los Angeles and consist three singing and instrument playing sisters – Este, Danielle and Alana Haim – and Dash, the drummer. They grew up in a house of music – they had a living room converted into a studio in their house (much like our old music-making venue!) – and formed as a band in 2006.
It wasn’t until 2012 that they released their first record, Forever EP, which got a lot of media attention and lead them being signed to Polydor records in the UK. They have been growing in popularity ever since and were nominated for MTV’s Brand New for 2013 award and won the BBC’s Sound of 2013!
