From his nomadic upbringing, moving around Southern America with his father, who was a preacher, Mikky Ekko has been catapulted to near the top of the charts with his feature on Rihanna’s Stay. This Louisiana-born singer/songwriter released his first EP, Strange Fruit, in February 2009 – an eerie, a capella collection of 5 self written songs.
(Quite premonitory that one of the top comments on this video was ‘Be Famous ! I wanna hear you on Radio :D’ a year ago…)
His sound is really unique and his voice is so lovely – very happy that Rihanna brought this amazing talent onto our radios!
With over 32million hits on Youtube for Stay, I have a feeling we will be hearing a lot more of Mikky Ekko…
