4 pictures I wish I had taken….

Written by

One little Christmas project was to watch the NASA Greatest Mission series.   Useful to remind me of how amazing, and how ridiculously dangerous, all those missions were.    Apollo 8 tested that we could fly to moon.  It circled moon and as it came around the dark side took this picture:

Made me think of the other pictures I wish I had taken.  Well, here’s my list:

3.  Shirley Jones in Carousel.    I’m not proud.  But when I was 8, we were at an Army base in Hawaii and Carousel was playing for the local troops.  I got to watch and fell in love with Shirley Jones – and remained so through Patridge Family.   I made it small, so maybe you didn’t really notice I mentioned this.

2.  Bob Dylan and John Lennon taking a break.    I need to redeem myself, so I’ll include this one.   It is so terribly cool that I don’t need to justify myself.  Although it is such a no-brainer, so deliberately cool, that it feels a bit ‘politically correct’ include.  In fact I feel a bit bad about myself on this one too…  Not sure, in hindsight, I’m enjoying this.

1. Elephant:    This would mean I was a in a cool place.  And I’m scuba diving.  And I’m faced with a massive live gray-white creature with some big freakin’ teeth just above me.  And, it isn’t a great white.    I’d be happy with this one, especially given the alternatives:

Well, truth be told.   I still wish I took the earth picture from the dark side of the moon.  Not sure about the others.  It is unclear that Shirley, Bob or John would have wanted much to do with me as a 8 year old.  And not clear I would actually want to be under that elephant.

Must recover.  Must recover this blog. … Well, it’s all about the music… So here you go:

1. Dark Side of the Moon:
