10 Things I’m Hearing Right Now

– The Soft Pack (“The Soft Pack“)- power pop and garage rock from Brooklyn
– Yeasayer  (“Odd Blood“) – also from Brooklyn (everything new and fresh comes from Brooklyn lately). Flaming Lips meet MMGT meet Church Music meet Pop meet Psychedelic.
– The Big Pink (“A brief history of love“) – The Jesus and Mary Chain are back!. Dark guitar Indie R&R
– Them Crooked Vultures (“Them Crooked Vultures“) – Supergroup adding up Foo Fighters + Led Zeppelin + Queens of the Stone Stage members. Heeaavvyyyy
– Massive Attack (“Heligoland“) – All the critics hate this album but I love those deep low and slow bass lines and those atmospheres.
– Fever Ray (“Fever Ray“) – Electronic. Ethnic. Hypnotic. Church music for a religion yet to be invented.
– Midlake (“The Courage of Others“) – New folk. Yes, british folk. But new. But great.
– Passion Pit (“Manners“) – Electronic synth pop from Boston. Optimistic and fun. To dance naked around the hosue.
– Spoon (“Before Destruction“) – Wel crafted Pop Rock from this Texas group.
– The Flaming Lips + Henry Rollins (“The Dark Side of the Moon“) – Pink Floyd fans really hate this and want to kill the American Psyc Rock band. But I think it’s fun.
