Fun Facts: 10.01.30
Written by Jimmy
More facts about prawns and moths…
- A shrimp’s/prawn’s heart is in its head. Man, what problems does that create for songwriters and philosophers?
- A moth has no stomach. No butterflies in the tummy for a moth then.
- Elephants weigh less than the tongue of a blue whale. Hmm….
That’s it. Off to the studio. Andy just rang the door bell, and the chaos begins. (And there’s a record label Prawn Songs, with music about whales… can’t find a song about moths, yet)
Jimmy (Back in London)
Hey Jimmy,
Thanks for a great games evening.
Talking about fact, although perhaps in the ‘boring’ department, I feel compelled to revisit the subject of Kenyon College.
I said that Kenyon topped the list of most expensive US colleges according to a recent newspaper article I think I’ve read recently. But right now the only list I can find puts Kenyon in third place:

Pretty close to fact, I’d say.
But, but, but your statement that Kenyon (Gambier, Ohio) is located west of the Mississippi River is so far off that one wonders if you really spend 4 years there. Gambier, Ohio, is 476 miles EAST of St Louis (right on the Mississippi River) if you take the I-70. In fact you have to cross half of the state of Ohio, the whole of both Indiana and Illinois to get from Kenyon to the Mississippi.
Here’s what I think: You and Kathy did indeed cross the Mississippi when the two of you car-journeyed from Kenyon back to DC for term breaks because you had plotted a route involving a thousand mile detour allowing you 15 extra hours to chat her up!!! 1500 miles in Dodge Dart with Jimmy’s ‘fun facts’ is sure to enchant [any damsel].
Moving on, I like your cool website. Henrik
