The Abubilla Logo: Origins, Captured for the first time…

It is 6:57 in Spain. The sun has not yet climbed up behind the hill. The air is still and the pool is as calm as it will ever be – resting before the assault of kids that have flown in from Washington State, Montana, Paris and London.
And asleep at the bottom of the pool, as clear as it has ever been, is the Abubilla, traced with dark blue tiles against a light blue background. And this, our friends, is the origin of the Abubilla Logo.
Give us a couple grand and we promise to add the guitar, like the ultimate version of the logo below:
And, on reflection, why is our little London Abubilla so sad? The Spanish bird seems far more hopeful at the bottom of the pool… Probably something about not having to brave the rains of London town. Or having a slightly better football team.
